Scotty is a former Scottish tour guide who has a broad knowledge of Clan culture in Scotland, a fascinating period of Scottish history. Furthermore, Scotty has worked closely as a historical presenter with the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, National Trust for Scotland, The Stirling and Trossachs Tourist Board and the Steamship Sir Walter Scott Trust, Loch Katrine.

He has addressed thousands of tourists and lectured to various domestic based groups. Scotty has travelled to Poland to lecture at the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, several other Polish Colleges, and to archaeologists at the Biskupin Archaeology Reservation in relation to Scottish Iron Age history.

Scotty has also appeared on television’s Channel 4 Time Team and on the DVD When the Day is Done featuring Isla Grant, a renowned Scottish and Irish folk singer.

Scotty will come to your school, hotel or home, in appropriate period costume (18th century Scottish Highlander) to give a historical presentation, or should you choose, a Celtic storytelling session. These storytelling sessions have become quite popular at children’s parties. Scotty can also offer a short hands-on range of ancient technologies e.g. drop spinning wool, ancient fire-making techniques, and stone and wood drilling.

Scotty can also give an historical presentation which includes Scottish Highland weapons – their use and development.

Audience participation is encouraged and demonstrations of clan period weapons and the preparation and wearing of the Great Kilt will be given.

Advice on school projects with regard to the use of natural materials can also be given.
